It examines the rapid urban growth driven by economic opportunities, which has led to significant challenges such as air and water pollution, inadequate waste management, and biodiversity loss. The paper highlightsthe socioeconomic impacts on marginalised communities through case studies and emphasises the need for integrated urban planning. Policy recommendations are provided to promote sustainable development, including enhanced public transport, effective waste management, and community engagement.
